Seeing Jesus is the most wonderful thing you can experience

Seeing Jesus with the eyes of your spirit man is truly the most wonderful experience there is. This is what you were created for: seeing Jesus and having intimate fellowship with Him. Know that Jesus is not far away from you, but He is as near as can be. This article teaches you to see Jesus with your spiritual eyes and behold His wonderful beauty.

Seeing Jesus - Eyes looking up

In this daily devotional you are invited to seeing Jesus with the eyes of your heart and be amazed by His beauty. Seeing Jesus enables you to have deep fellowship with Him and experience His presence more than ever.

Don’t be afraid, this is not occult, new age or spiritism, as some may fear. This is what the entire Bible is about: knowing God heart to heart, spirit to spirit, face to face, through personal encounters with Him. You were not created to always see Jesus from a distance, with your mind only. You are a spiritual being, born from the Spirit of God, to have deep fellowship with God. Seeing Jesus should be normal for every believer who has an intimate relationship with God.

Keys to seeing Jesus

seeing Jesus eyes heart

The first key to seeing Jesus is knowing that Christ dwells among us.

The presence of Jesus Christ among us, is the essence of the new covenant. In the old covenant the presence of God resided in a stone temple, in the earthly Jerusalem. In the new covenant however God no longer dwells in a house made by men, but He dwells with us.

‘You are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (2 Cor. 6:16)

Jesus promised that He and the Father would make their abode with us, which means that they live with us!

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” (John 14:23)

Get rid of the old covenant mindset that tells you Jesus is somewhere far away and discover the wonderful reality of the new covenant that He is here with you. His presence is among us, therefor we can encounter Him in an amazing way.

The second key to seeing Jesus is using your spiritual senses.

When you come to faith in Jesus Christ and truly surrender your heart and life to Him, then you will receive the Holy Spirit and become born again of God. Jesus said about this spiritual birth:

‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God… That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.’ (John 3:3, 6)

The apostle John explained that only those who accept Jesus as the Messias, can be born again of God and become God’s beloved children:

‘But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.’ (John 1:12)

Your spiritual man who is born of God also has senses, just like your natural man. The key to seeing Jesus is to be aware of your spiritual eyes, and learn to use them to behold Jesus and the Father during your worship. This enables you to be far more intimate with Jesus Christ and have precious fellowship with Him.

Seeing Jesus in worship

My beloved,

Your heart was created to know Me.

Not just with your mind, from a distance.

I have purposed you to know Me from the depths of your heart.

Then you will love Me with all your heart.

My child, I invite you to come to Me today.

Not just for a moment, from a distance.

Not in a hurry.

I invite you to give Me your whole heart.

Put everything else aside for a while.

Your struggles, your questions and your desires.

Lay it all down for a minute.

And open your heart for Me.

See Me.

I’m here. Next to you. With you.

Do you see Me, with the eyes of your heart?

I am not far, beloved.

I am here, as close as can be.

Do you see Me, my child?

Put everything aside for a while.

I invite you.

There is enough fuss around you.

Work is always waiting for you.

There is also enough struggle.

But don’t let that stop you.

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Come now.

How can you see Jesus?

You can not see Me with your natural eyes, but with the eyes of your heart.

The eyes of your spirit.

These are the senses of your spirit who is born of God.

Your earthly man is born of your mother, but your spiritual man is born of God.

Your spiritual man also has senses,

Learn to use those senses.

See Me with the eyes of your heart, says Jesus.

Look at Me with full attention.

See Me.

I’m here.

Let everything else fall away for a moment.

All concerns, struggles, questions and your needs.

Let the desires and demands of your fellow man also rest for a while.

And see only Me.

Enjoy ME.

Enjoy My beauty.

Enjoy My greatness.

I am here, My child.

Can you see Me?

Ask Me to open the eyes of your heart.

It is sometimes difficult to see Me, if you have never been aware of your spiritual senses.

Yet I have created you to worship Me this way.

In Spirit and truth.

Because I am Spirit.

I’m not far away from you.

If you learn to use the eyes of your heart, you will see Me.

So surrender completely to Me.

This surrender is a key, My child.

Don’t think about it.

Your mind doesn’t help you to see Me.

Your mind questions everything.

That doesn’t help you.

Be like a child.

As a simple child that trusts and believes.

Look at Me, as a child.

Prayer to seeing Jesus

If you find it difficult, ask Me simply:

“Lord, please open the eyes of My heart, let me see your beauty, I give myself entirely to You. Thank you for being here with me. You are not far, but right here with me. Thank you that I can have communion with you. I surrender all I am to you.”

Pray these simple words with your heart.

Then I will guide you.

Dare to trust that I am here, says Jesus.

Do not fear.

I am your Good Shepherd, the keeper of your soul, your best friend and your beloved.

Have no fear.

But surrender entirely to Me.

Spend time in My presence every day.

Make it a priority to behold Me, with your heart.

Then you will begin to see My beauty.

By being like a child.

By completely surrendering yourself to Me.

Come, my beloved.

Then we will be together.

And you will get to know Me.

From heart to heart.

Do you want that?

– Jesus Christ

Scriptures about seeing Jesus

The prophet Isaiah is one of the many prophets in the Bible who saw Jesus Christ in His glory. This is what Isaiah wrote about his first vision of Jesus, as the Lord Almighty:

‘I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.’ (Isaiah 6:1)

The prophet David, who wrote the world famous Psalms, encourages us to always seek the face of the Lord. David knew what intimacy with God is. He learned to see Jesus as His best Friend when he was all alone in the desert, deserted by his very own friends and family. In these times of loneliness he developed a deep relationship with the Lord. And he experienced how precious it is, as he echoes the cry of the heart of God to all of us:

‘Look to the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.’ (Psalms 105:4)

Seeing Jesus in His glory and majesty became such a source of strength and comfort to David that he wrote in Psalm 27 that seeing the Lord was his utmost desire:

‘One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.’ (Psalm 27:4)
